Holy Trinity Catholic High School is the proud host of the 2022 OFSAA Girls “AA” Soccer Championship taking place in Bradford, Ontario, from Thursday, June 2 through Saturday, June 4, 2022. This marks the first time that this provincial championship has been held in the town of Bradford. This event will bring together twenty high school senior girls soccer teams who will compete in a round robin tournament to be held at Henderson Memorial Park.
Along with the 600 student-athletes actively participating in the tournament, we expect many family members, friends, and soccer enthusiasts to join our celebration of high school sport! “We are excited to share the rich soccer history that exists at our school and in our community,” said Co-Curricular Chairperson at Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Denny DeOliveira.
Over the last 25 years, the Tigers soccer program has grown to be one of the most successful high school athletic programs in Simcoe County. “The success of our program has been built by a tireless work ethic, and an attention to detail with a focus on player development both on and off the pitch. Not only do we offer an opportunity for players to represent our Junior and Senior soccer teams, but we also offer a Soccer Focus class for students in Grade 11 and Grade 12,” said DeOliveira.
This attention to player development has certainly paid off and contributed to numerous Georgian Bay Secondary Schools Association (GBSSA) titles across all divisions (including Jr Boys Soccer, Jr Girls Soccer, Sr Boys Soccer & Sr Girls Soccer). The school has also had exceptional results at previous OFSAA Championships, including 1 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze, 2 antique bronze. Furthermore, several Holy Trinity alumni have continued their soccer careers playing in the English Football League One, Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), U Sports (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) and for Team Canada at the World Cup.
Please join us as we cheer on the Tigers!
