Garrett Howes & Shannon Howes
Garrett and Shannon Howes are student-athletes at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Tottenham. They were nominated by the Stingers Co-Curricular Chairperson, Marce Ross, who said:
“Garrett was extremely committed to the boys hockey team this year and was the lead scorer for the team. He ensured that everyone felt like an important member of the team by saying hi and giving them high fives! Being on the team, he was able to remind both his teammates and opposition why hockey is a great game to play.”
“Shannon is an outstanding leader who stepped into a position she’s never played before during flag football. She filled the role of quarterback with ease and played defense too. She tried out for Senior Girls Volleyball for the first time in Grade 12, made the team, learned how to be a setter and was setting on the starting line by the end of the season. Extremely hard worker who balances academics, school sports and competitive hockey and softball! She will be NCAA D1 bound in the Fall.”
Congratulations to you both and best of luck in your future endeavors!
