6th Annual CSASC Boys Basketball Tip-Off Tournament

On Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26, Junior and Senior Boys Basketball teams from Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County, competed in the sixth annual pre-season event. Coaches agree that this tournament is a fantastic way for their student-athletes to prepare for the upcoming high school season, and it’s a terrific celebration for the league.

“There’s a lot of work that goes into getting teams ready to play, making travel arrangements, etc. It’s great that all of our schools were able to continue the tradition started eight years ago by Pat Dooley,” shared tournament convenor and teacher-coach, Paul Zyla, of St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School.

“Special thanks to the host schools and staff members of St. Peter’s and St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School” said Zyla.

Congratulations to Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School, led by legendary teacher-coaches, Brad MacNeil and Fred Bosco, for winning the Senior tournament title, and toΒ St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, led by well-known retired teacher-coach, Pat Dooley, for earning the Junior Championship!
