Congratulations to Brianna Pileggi and Andrew Laurin from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, for receiving Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County Student-Athlete of the Month honours for October 2023! Here is what our teacher-coach nominators had to say about this month’s recipients:
“Andrew is a Grade 12 multi sport student-athlete from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Barrie, who currently plays on both the Senior Boys Volleyball Team as well as the Senior Boys Golf Team. Recently, Andrew captained the Jaguars Golf Team to an unprecedented Fifth Consecutive GBSSA Title. In addition, Andrew was the tournament champion, firing a low round of 71 at a very challenging National Pines Golf Club. Andrew is a true ambassador of our school who routinely conducts himself in a mature and professional manner.”
“Brianna is a Grade 12 student-athlete at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School who is a quiet leader that allows her effort and her attitude to speak for themselves. This girl has speed to burn and uses this gift to torch the competition in Flag Football. Brianna is also an OFSAA Medalist in T&F, having shared the podium with the members of her 4×100 relay team. Brianna is poised to help the Jags defend their CSASC Flag Football title later this fall. Way to go Bri!”
