Congratulations to Johnny Girgis and Ireland McCloskey for receiving Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County Student-Athlete of the Month honours for January 2023! Here is what our teacher-coach nominators had to say about this month’s recipients:
“Johnny is a team leader and a true ambassador to SJO Athletics. Mr. Girgis serves as captain of the Jags Sr. Boys Basketball Team and bleeds Maroon both inside the classroom and on the court. Johnny’s dedication to Jags Basketball is contagious and encourages his peers to follow his lead and strive to reach their respective potentials.”
“Ireland was a force on our CSASC Championship Flag Football Team as well as captaining our Jags Hockey Team to an Monsignor Clair Cup! Ms. McCloskey’s success does not stop on the field nor the ice. She is an Honour Roll student and a natural leader within our community.”
