We are thrilled to announce that Our Lady of the Bay Catholic High School is hosting the 2024 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Alpine Ski Championships! Taking place at the breathtaking Osler Bluff Ski Club in Blue Mountains, the Giant Slalom races will be held on Monday, February 26 and Slalom races on Tuesday, February 27.
This provincial high school championship is set to attract around 400 of the finest alpine skiers from across Ontario in various divisions of competition; including the high school division, the open (race trained) division as well as an adaptive division.
OFSAA Convenor and Co-Curricular Chairperson from Our Lady of the Bay Catholic High School in Collingwood, Melissa Wheatcroft, says “the organizing committee has started a new partnership with the Ontario Track3 Adaptive Sports Association that will welcome the opportunity for student-athletes living with disabilities to compete on the slopes”.
The event promises not only fierce competition but also an opportunity for athletes to spend quality time with their families and teammates in the local area. It’s important to express gratitude for all those who have contributed to the success of this event in the past, as well as to those who have worked tirelessly to support this year’s event. Honourable mentions go to all the volunteer coaches and families who continue to support the sport, and create opportunities for their students to be successful and engage in school sport.
So mark your calendars for February 26 & 27, and stay up to date on schedules and results by visiting OFSAA Alpine.
