Congratulations to Vanessa Miranda and Ebube Odah from Holy Trinity Catholic High School, for receiving Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County Student-Athlete of the Month honours for May 2023! Here is what our teacher-coach nominators had to say about this month’s recipients:
“Vanessa Miranda, a Grade 9 student from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford, showcased her exceptional talent across multiple sports this year. Her passion for athletics led her to compete on the Junior Girls Basketball team, the Junior Girls Volleyball team, and the Senior Girls Soccer team. Her remarkable skills as an athlete shone through as she emerged as the leading scorer within her own Tigers soccer team, as well as in both the CSASC and the GBSSA Soccer Championships. Vanessa’s outstanding performance continued as she led the team in goals at the OFSAA Championship in Coburg last weekend. Not only is she a standout athlete, but she also exemplifies exceptional leadership both on and off the field.”
“Congratulations to Ebube, a Grade 9 student from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford, on his tremendous success this season in the Track and Field event of 100 meter Hurdles. Ebube’s dedication and hard work paid off as he emerged as the GBSSA Champion and the OFSAA Central Regional Champion. His remarkable performance at the prestigious OFSAA event in Ottawa, where he placed 13th overall in the 100m Hurdles, showcases his talent and determination. Ebube’s achievements are a testament to his commitment to excellence, and he serves as an inspiration to his peers!”
